Today We will preserve your body so you may be a sign for those who come after you. And indeed, many among the people are heedless of Our signs.

The Quran explicitly promised that Pharaoh's body would be preserved as a 'sign' (āyah) for future generations. Unlike the Bible which does not mention body preservation, the Quran specifically declares this. The discovery of remarkably preserved pharaonic mummies in the 19th-20th centuries fulfills this prophecy. The mummy of Merneptah (often identified as the Exodus Pharaoh) showed evidence consistent with drowning, including salt deposits in the tissues.

Mummy Discoveries
The Royal Mummies Cache was discovered in 1881 at Deir el-Bahari. Among them were Ramesses II, Seti I, and other pharaohs. Merneptah's mummy was found separately in 1898 in the Valley of the Kings.
Forensic Evidence
Modern forensic analysis of pharaonic mummies reveals cause of death and conditions of preservation. Dr. Maurice Bucaille's examination of Merneptah's mummy in 1975 noted salt crystals consistent with seawater exposure.
